Mercedes has long looked at the entire U.S. auto market as fair game, which means not just a place where he can sell luxury vehicles, but a place to market “low budget” vehicles too. Unknown to some American motorists, the Mercedes name is much broader than just being a luxury make. Like its German rival, Volkswagen, Mercedes sells cars in Europe that compete directly against the Golf as well as against the luxurious VW Phaeton. However, introducing a “budget Benz” to America is a psychological hurdle that parent DaimlerChrysler to delay making a commitment. General Motors’ Saturn division is working hard to build a replacement small SUV, the Saturn VUE. Currently only based on U.S. technology, VUE in 2008 is expected to significantly base on the technology Opel: Opel is the main brand of General Motors Europe. This is good news for those who worry that GM would ditch the Saturn VUE. Instead, the SUV will get new life and additional support through a new relationship with Opel. Although too early to know all details about the upcoming Saturn VUE makeover, there are some things we know about the revamped model. Since Saturn released the first “S Series” models back in 1990, the company has struggled to maintain its unique identity. 
As new developments occur in the early motor industry a small number of designers and builders push to limit the driver’s car on a race track to test the ability of other manufacturer’s vehicles. This race triggers the next generation of cars and drivers. As machines become more powerful ability to race the machines began to encourage the design and needs to new levels this quite often at the expense of someone’s life. Big powerful engines placed into fragile frames and pushed to the limit, often with dire consequences for drivers and spectators. But humans have the need to go faster and faster and this drove these brave enough and often reckless early pioneers 
What defines the term sports car and why are we so fascinated with them.
